About the event

Five local people tell the story of Withernsea.

We  start outside Withernsea Library on Queen Street, in sight of St Nicholas Church and a wartime tale that will be told by Dot Perkins (90).

Then other storytellers will join us as we walk down Cheverton Avenue and hear the story of Cheverton Brown, one of the Victorian founders of Withensea, before later learning about Mr Bannister. Then on to the sea front and the RNLI crew will remind us of dramatic RNLI callouts of the past.

We finish further down Withernsea Promenade at the Pier Towers as we hear all about the Sisters Kirk.

Everyone is welcome to join us to learn about the intriguing history of Withernsea !

The route is a slow 1 mile walk, and will take about 1 hour.

Free to join, bucket collection welcome.
