Celebrating Humberside Fire & Rescue Service's contribution to Blue Light Weekend
10 August 2023 - 2 minute read
As the excitement builds for the forthcoming Blue Light Weekend in Withernsea this August, we're taking a moment to acknowledge the members of Humberside Fire & Rescue Service based in the town. Their relentless dedication to ensuring safety, combined with their active participation in local events, enriches our community.
Withernsea Fire Station, in Walter Street, has played an integral role in safeguarding the town and surrounding areas since it was established in 1958. The firefighters' swift, professional response to emergencies, commitment to public safety and dedication to fire prevention are admirable and provide us with a sense of security that is irreplaceable.

For the Blue Light Weekend on August 12-13, Humberside Fire & Rescue Service has extended its role beyond the essential duty of maintaining safety. They will be immersing themselves in the community, not just as protectors but as enthusiastic participants and educators.
The brigade has prepared an exciting range of demonstrations and interactive sessions for visitors to the event. These activities aim to offer a behind-the-scenes look into the life of a firefighter, teach critical fire safety tips, and provide hands-on experiences with firefighting equipment. Such engagement serves not only as an educational opportunity but also as a chance for the younger generation to be inspired to become firefighters.
Humberside Fire & Rescue's contribution plays a significant part in ensuring that events like the Blue Light Weekend can take place. So, as you enjoy the entertainment on land, sea and in the air, we hope you can join us in saying a huge thank you to them.
